A delightful Jazz-inspired Christmas collection for Bb Clarinet with demo/backing tracks, and a piano accompaniment, by Chris Lawry and Keri Degg. Christmas Jazz for Clarinet Volume 1 consists of five festive arrangements including smoochy ballads (Silent Night, and The First Nowell (Noel) but also tunes with serious groove factor (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen is one), plus I Saw Three Ships (complete with sleigh bells), and Hark The Herald (in 5/4 time).
A set of demonstration (clarinet with backing), and backing tracks are included with the book via the CD. A piano accompaniment part is also included to give more flexibility/options. As well as featuring the original tune, each piece has an original clarinet solo which adds a touch of uniqueness to these timeless festive favourites.
The pieces are not too advanced, and players of intermediate ability (grade 5-6) should be able to play all without any difficulty. Some, (The First Nowell, and Silent Night for instance) are even more accessible; around grade 3-4. Christmas Jazz Collection is also available in Eb (Alto/Baritone) Sax and Piano, Flute, and Bb Saxophone editions, as well as printed editions with audio download options (instead of CD).
